God’s word does not require that we all react emotionally the same way at the same time. The lockdowns have not affected everyone equally.

The lockdowns are hard. They are hard in too many ways to count and in too many ways to describe.

Is it time to drop the word “evangelical” - not because we have changed, but because the word’s meaning has changed and no longer defines us? It is time to stress the depths and age of our roots. What we believe and how we seek to live goes right back to Jesus in unbroken continuity.

“The visible church of Christ is a congregation of faithful men and women in which the pure Word of God is preached, and the sacraments are ministered as Christ ordained”. Why is the preaching of “the pure Word of God” a defining characteristic of a good church?
